Superior Beverage Group offers all qualifying associates the ability to participate in a 401(k) savings plan. This plan is a valuable benefit to help associates save now for retirement. Traditional 401(k) and Roth 401(k) contributions are available. Superior Beverage Group will match 50% of the first 6% of your contribution. After 5 years of service, you are fully vested and entitled to the contributions Superior Beverage Group has made to the plan contributions.

Superior Beverage Group associates are eligible to receive a 20% discount on Verizon Wireless monthly access charges on all personal phone plans. Associates are also qualified to receive up to 25% off eligible Verizon Wireless accessories including chargers, cases, covers, and headsets.

Eligible associates are able to enjoy holidays with pay per their regular rate of earning throughout the year. Superior Beverage Group observes the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. In addition to paid holidays, full-time associates are eligible for personal days and vacation days. Associates earn additional days of vacation and personal time based on years of service. Other types of paid time off such as leave for Jury Service, Military, etc. are available as well.

The Flu vaccine prevents millions of illnesses and flu-related doctor’s visits each year. Superior Beverage Group offers FREE on-site flu shots every flu season to its associates.

Some of the company events we participate in are taking associates and their families to Cedar Point, hosting holiday parties in our tasting rooms, bringing in food trucks, and many more.

In an effort to encourage associates to refer applicants for employment with the Company, the Company pays a cash award to non-exempt personnel of $200 for each successfully referred regular, non-exempt associate, and $500 for each successfully referred regular, exempt associate. An associate receives 50% of the designated dollar award upon the new hire's completion of three (3) months of employment and receives the remaining 50% of such award after such person's completion of six (6) months of service - provided both individuals are employed with the Company during such time periods.

Superior Beverage Group values the opportunity for individuals to pursue an education. The Marion Scholarship is awarded annually to a recipient that is either an associate or an associate’s family member.

The President’s Choice Award winner for March is dedicated to enhancing the business of our customers and suppliers.

Sue Reese, Pricing Coordinator, manages the proper pricing for 43 chains for SBG. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial to this work and Sue handles it quickly and efficiently. Her consistent and timely communication and follow-up ensures that we are able to service our key chains without concern that the products can be received at store level, and sold for the correct price.

In March, the Brown Distributing acquisition added several new challenges to an already busy month for the Pricing Department. Sue managed the additional workload with her usual professionalism and determination. Creating three new sales territories, updating all territory codes and the Pricing Dashboard, and switching 15 chains from Brown to SBG was crucial to the early success of this acquisition. Sue’s ability to multi-task, handle high-pressure situations, work some late nights, and prioritize time-sensitive issues make her a true team player.

Denise VanOrder

The President’s Choice Award winner for March lives by the tenets of our vision statement.

Denise VanOrder, Payroll Specialist, is always willing to assist in any special projects that arise along with her regular payroll duties. She has worn many hats in her 25 years with Superior Beverage Group.

In March, Denise was asked to lead the onboarding to welcome and integrate the new associates related to the Brown Distributing acquisition. This is a new associate’s first glimpse into work life and a new career with Superior Beverage. Denise made them all feel welcome with her professional and warm demeanor. A great deal of preparation, long hours, and travel to Newark were required by Denise to ensure a successful orientation. Her follow-through, attention to detail, and quick response to new associate questions have allowed for a smooth transition for all.
